At RISK
A particular problem has been with the DWI offender who registers as a Level:1 Risk Status under Rule 25 and, therefore dose not qualify for treatment funds.
At RISK* is specially designed for such people. They may have had a high breathe alcohol content (BAC) when arrested, for example, but are abstaining with assessed. Their lifestyle, however, center on chemical use, making attempts at abstinence only temporary.
At RISK* individual may have had drug treatment or education, but have either relapsed with no tool to recovery, or abstained without addressing original problem issues.
To address the potential problems of these people the funding system has overlooked, CREATE, Inc.- with the support of Hennepin County Chemical Health Division, Hennepin County Courts and the Minnesota Department of Public Safety- has developed the self Intervention Model.
It is designed to help At RISK* persons determine the level to which their lifestyles center around chemical use and design ways to eliminate emphasis.
The At RISK* education process includes companion support and the formulation of a Risk Free Contract.
The Department of Public Safety will accept At RISK* completion as long as the Court has ordered it and added follow recommendations to the sentence of the individuals registering at Level 1: Risk Status.
